KUALA LUMPUR – Multinational food manufacturer The Arnott’s Group (TAG) has sounded an alert for the recall of a spoiled batch of its Prego Carbonara Mushroom Pasta Sauce (665g) from store shelves in Singapore.

The batch was produced in Malaysia and subsequently exported across the causeway.

The manufacturer has informed the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) that the affected batch may exhibit signs of spoilage, including an unpleasant smell, unusual colour, watery appearance, and separated layers of liquid.

In a statement today, SFA directed the importer, Campbell Soup Southeast Asia Sdn Bhd (Singapore Branch), to recall the implicated product. The recall is ongoing.

The island republic’s food authority also advised those who purchased the aforementioned batch of products not to consume them, and for those who have to seek medical attention.

The spoiled batch of products was produced on August 17, 2022, with an expiry date of August 17, 2023, with the impacted time code being between 22:18 and 23:20 stamped on the cap.

TAG is the maker of Australian and local brands such as Arnott’s, Prego, and Kimball.

Previously it was reported that the group was expanding its operations in the country to make Malaysia the regional hub. – The Vibes, December 22, 2022
